Norway Ski & Snowboarding Holidays

For an all round winter experience you can't beat Norway. Norway has a snow record that is the envy of the rest of Europe and there can be snow on the doorstep for up to six months each year. Norway is a beginner and intermediate's paradise, and each of the main resorts has something different to offer.

Geilo is probably the best known resort and here you can ski perfectly-groomed slopes on both sides of the valley, all with incredible views. Trysil has the largest ski area in the country, with everything from wide, confidence-building blue runs to tricky blacks plus off-piste opportunities. Hemsedal has the perfect mix of runs for the day and apr's spots for the evening. Beitostilen is the smallest resort and has an excellent ski school, making it ideal for beginners and families.

Cross-country (or Nordic) skiing is popular and gives you a chance to see the snowy landscapes from a different angle. Norway is also known for the wealth of fun winter activities on offer from dog sledding, snowmobiling, ice-rally driving, toboganning, sleigh rides, ice skating or ice fishlng. Resort facilities and equipment hire are nothing short of excellent, and there is tuition with friendly, English speaking instructors for adults and children of all ages.

A superb destination for families, there are creches in most resorts and young children (normally under 7's) receive free lift passes and ski in dedicated areas. Norway's apr's ski also takes some beating and after a hard day on the slopes you won't be short of places to eat or drink. Places to stay range from superb self-catering apartments, traditional hotels to cosy log-cabins.

Whichever accommodation or resort you choose, you can expect quiet slopes, friendly people, great food and an incredible winter experience.
