Finland Ski & Snowboarding Holidays

Lapland in winter is a magical experience, a scenic winter wonderland located deep inside the Arctic Circle and blanketed in snow from December to May. There are half a dozen main resorts in Finland, all located well north of the Arctic Circle at the optimum latitude for seeing the Northern Lights.

Levi, Yllas and Ruka are probably the best known, each has a distinctly different character but all are in stunningly beautiful wilderness areas. In the north of Finland, it's known as the land of extremes, with miles of rugged, unspoiled landscapes and temperatures that can drop below -30'C.

Finland is a fantastic place to learn to ski with reliable snow well into the Spring, and the runs are wide and well-groomed. The ski school's are excellent and intermediates should find plenty to keep them busy as well. As well as the Downhill skiing and Cross Country Skiing, there is a large variety of activities and excursions are on offer with something to suit all standards of fitness, age and ability. These include the popular search for the Northern Lights, husky, reindeer and snowmobile safaris, ice-fishing or simply walking along cleared winter footpaths or take to snowshoes to explore areas off the beaten track.
